Stories of Chinese People’s Lives II is a Chinese reader series for Chinese learners selected and edited by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban). Based on the program by Tencent Net One Day of a Chinese, this series presents a one-day life and work of ordinary Chinese people. It helps Chinese learners at home and abroad to understand the contemporary Chinese society. By scanning the QR code in the book, readers can have access to all kinds of online resources. Besides, it helps readers to understand Chinese geography, economy, society, folk culture, as well as updated, authentic and practical Chinese language directly through vivid pictures, videos and descriptions. People in Their 40s is one of the seven books in Stories of Chinese People’s Lives (Second Volume) book series. The book tells about stories of 6 middle-aged men in their forties. Protagonists of this book include foreigners living in China, and Chinese people that come from all walks of live such as street performers, drivers for special cars, babysitters, tricycle drivers and farmers.
