The New Silk Road “Chinese + Professional Skills” is a series of specialized and vocational Chinese textbooks that combine professional and vocational technologies with Chinese as a second language. The textbooks are designed to meet students' basic communication needs in the general Chinese environment, as well as their professional learning needs and workplace requirements.

This series uses a Chinese teaching and textbook composition model that combines special language skills and professional skills training. Beginning with learning basic phonetic knowledge and vocational skills at the elementary level, this series integrates “Chinese + Vocational Skills” into the dialogues of the work scene, splits the work into different tasks, solves lexical cognition problems through picture cognition, solves the problem of the mismatch between learners' mastery of Chinese vocabulary and vocational skills through the showing of videos, emphasizes the practical aspect of skills and focuses on “learning by doing.”

The series contains textbooks for six popular fields of study, such as logistics management, automotive service technology, e-commerce, mechatronics, computer networking and hotel management, with each field of study consisting of textbooks at elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Each volume contains 10 units, with each unit consisting of modules such as “phonetics/Chinese character, texts, communicative phrases, practical training, summary.”
